About the Orchestra

Led by the passionate and visionary Sarah John, the Summerhill Orchestra is more than just a traditional ensemble—it’s a community of musicians dedicated to sharing the joy of orchestral music with audiences far and wide.

From classical favourites to contemporary gems, the Summerhill Orchestra’s performances are a celebration of artistic expression and musical diversity. With each concert, they strive to create memorable experiences that resonate with listeners of all ages and backgrounds.

Beyond the stage, the Summerhill Orchestra is deeply committed to community engagement, educational initiatives, and collaboration with local artists and organizations. Through these efforts, they aim to make orchestral music accessible and inclusive for everyone in the Greater Toronto Area.

Auditions
Auditions are ongoing and can be booked by contacting us at summerhillorchestra@gmail.com.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals are held Monday nights from 7:30-10:00 pm
Our rehearsal and concert  location is The Church of the Messiah at the corner of Avenue Rd and Dupont.

Fees
Successful applicants will be required to pay a yearly fee of $225 for participation in rehearsals/performances.
